Chief Justice inaugurates electronic facilitation centre | J&K High Court ranked one among 5 high readiness high courts in India | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 24: The Chief Justice of High Court Justice F.M. Ibrahim Kalifulla today inaugurated the Electronic Facilitation Centre in the High Court premises here and threw it open for the public use. This is a technology similar to bank ATM, where the Lawyers and Litigants would be able to see the status of their pending cases by a simple finger touch of a screen without the assistance of any person. By installation of this technology litigants will be able to save time and cost. A similar type of electronic facilitation centre has already been established at Srinagar Wing of the High Court. Earlier, the High Court has installed round the clock Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) in both the wings of the High Court for the facility of general public where case status information can be sought through a simple telephone call even from a PCO. High Court has gone ahead in computerization technology and has been ranked as one amongst the five High Readiness High Courts of the country, as per the E-Court implementation status review assessment report 2010-11. For the facility of general public not only the causelists but the daily judgments and Administrative orders are made available on the High Court website. Under e-courts Project Jammu and Kashmir High Court has established computer rooms and Judicial Service Centre in each District and Subordinate Court of the state and so far 20 District Court Complexes and 3 Tehsil Court Complexes have been computerized. Justice Virender Singh, Justice J.P. Singh and Justice Husnain Masoodi were present on the occasion.
