Jain Taruni Mandal celebrates golden jubilee | Cultural activities build confidence, promote camaraderie: First Lady | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 24: Jain Taruni Mandal, Jammu, organized a cultural evening as part of its Golden Jubilee celebrations at Abhinav Theatre here this evening. Usha Vohra, First Lady, was the Chief Guest at the function. Speaking on the occasion, the First Lady congratulated the Jain Taruni Mandal for putting up a very well organized and meticulously presented cultural programme. She added that such activities help in building confidence, promote camaraderie, good will and cooperation, besides showcasing what we can do together. Vohra lauded the Jain Taruni Mandal for organizing various social activities and helping those who are not so lucky. While wishing all success to the Mandal in its endeavours, she hoped that they would continue to support the needy. Referring to Jainism, the First Lady observed that it is an ancient religion which has spread the message of non-violence, truth, harmony and the virtues of leading a pious life. Vohra honoured former Presidents of the Jain Taruni Mandal on behalf of this organization by presenting awards to them. She interacted with the awardees and congratulated them for receiving the awards. Lady Governor was honoured on the occasion by the Jain Taruni Mandal by presenting a memento to her. Earlier, the First Lady lit the ceremonial lamp to mark the commencement of the function. In her welcome address, Savita Jain, President, Jain Taruni Mandal, spoke about the activities of the Mandal, its history, evolution and future action plan. A musical concert, “Atam Jeevan Darshan”, depicting the life of Jain Acharya Shri Atma Ramji Maharaj, his spiritual achievements and contribution to society through his preachings was presented on this occasion to observe his death anniversary.
