| Barnoti people protest against scarcity of water | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, Nov 24: Near about eight villages of block Barnoti has been suffering from the scarcity of drinking water for the last twenty days and the agitating people also locked up the Tube well to lodge their protest against the negligent PHE department.
Led by Som Raj of Village Nanan under the leadership of and demanded the immediate action against the motor operators deputed at Tube well for the supply of water and the concerned department PHE and locked up the tube well. The protestors alleged that the PHE department in convenience with some elements has stopped water to eight villages for the last twenty days.
They said such negligent and inefficient department that has been failed to provide the basic services to the people for whom it had been established should be closed. The villagers urged the district administration to take serious and effective step to make the regular supply of water and also urged to transfer the PHE employees who failed to perform their duties.
