"In the one hours meeting, Chief Minister apprised the cabinet about his recent meetings in New Delhi with the central leadership over the issue of revocation of the AFSPA," they said. "The cabinet unanimously decided that they would support the CM's move as it was in favour of people. However, it was also decided that Army's apprehensions over the issue should be taken into consideration," sources said. The cabinet colleagues also approved sending of a high level committee of senior officials who would further brief the concerned quarters in Delhi as to why the NC led coalition feels necessity of partially revoking AFSPA in the state. Meeting was attended by all the ministers except Minister for Finance, Abdul Rahim Rather and Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Taj Mohi-ud-Din. While Rather is in Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj Taj is attending winter secretariat in Srinagar.
