| NCC cadets launch cleanliness drive at R S Pura | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, November 25 : NCC cadets of the Government Boys Higher Secondary School , visited the Nari Niketan and the Bal Ashram , R S Pura and launched a massive cleanliness drive.
The drive was held under the supervision of NCC officer Chaman Choudary and he said that programme was organized under 2 J&K ARMD, SQN, NCC Jammu. Chaman Choudhary said that the NCC takes such initiatives in the month of November every year as the NCC Act was passed in 1948 and so NCC came into existence in November.
Almost 120 cadets of various age groups participated in this drive.
In the month of November number of social activities are organized by NCC throughout India in order to inculcate the social responsibilities among the cadets.
The cadets distributed fruits among the old people in the old age home.
The Principal of GHSS, Boys R S Pura, and Shafqat Chib said that such type of activities help the children to imbibe good qualities and also helps to shape them in better citizens.
She added that the aim of bringing the cadets here was not only to clean the area but also to make them aware about the problems being faced by the people living in the Bal Ashram and the Nari Niketan.
