Life-imprisonment to accused facing murder charge | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 25: Principal Sessions Judge Jammu Mr Jang Bhadur Singh Jamwal today awarded life-imprisonment to Labha Ram of Bishnah an alleged accused in the murder of Kuldeep son of Ram Chand which was committed on May 4, 1999. Principal Sessions Judge Jammu Jang Bhadur Singh Jamwal today after hearing both the sides and referred various judgments observed crime is now considered as a social problem and by reason therefore, a tremendous change even conceptually is being seen in the legal horizon so far as the punishment is concerned. With these observations Court awarded rigorous life-imprisonment and fine Rs 10, 000 to convict Labha Ram u/s 302/34 while another accused Jeet Ram, Tilak Raj died during the trial and proceedings u/s 512 CrPC has been initiated against accused Faqir Chand who were declared absconder. According to the police case that on May 4, 1999 P/S received information telephonically from GMC Jammu that one Kuldeep son of Ram Chand has been admitted in an injured condition where he succumbed to his injuries. A case u/s 302/34 RPC was registered against the accused and after completion of investigation challan was presented in the Court.
