Workshop on “Training Needs Assessment (TNA) concludes

EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, NOVEMBER 25- Training Needs Assessment (TNA) workshop which started on 21 November, 2011 concluded here today with a very concrete proposal for the training of Elected Representatives/Trainer of Trainees of J&K State.
The workshop was participated by various state Institutions of Rural Development including Punjab, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan & J&K. The work schedule of this 5 days workshop included question-answer sessions & Focus Groups Discussions with all stakeholders, specific presentations by the particularly State Institutes of Rural Development (SIRD) presentations on the comparisons of 73rd Constitutional Amendment Act and capacity building measures by the Assistant Commissioners Development of both Divisions & field visits to RETC, R.S. Pura & Gurwal & Swankha Panchayat of Vijaypur Block.
As per the directions of Govt. of India the Elected Representative & Trainer of Trainees will be trained with the help of various SIRDs. The schedule of which will start from 10th of December, 2011 onwards. This training module will for the first time include various exposure visit for Elected Representatives/Trainer of Trainees of the state of J&K.
In this workshop special emphasis was given for the awareness of Female Sarpanchs of the state.
In the valedictory session today Commissioner/ Secretary to Government, Rural Development Department, J&K State Farooq Ahmad Peer, discussed the preliminary road map given by Dr. S. N. Alam from J&K IMPA Srinagar & with all the stakeholders.
Director, Rural Development Jammu S.A. Raina, & Director, Rural Development, Kashmir Jahangir Mir briefed the participants about the preparations of the Department regarding the capacity building measures already taken & their commitment towards giving a final & practical shape to the proposed training module which was evolved in this workshop.
