| Rajasekharan presents Bharat Gaurav to Karra | | | New Delhi, January 09
Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Finance, Planning, Law & Parliamentary Affairs, Mr Tariq Hameed Karra was conferred the Bharat Gaurav award by the India International Friendship Society (IIFS) at an impressive function here last evening. The award was presented to him by the Union Minister of State for Planning, Mr M V Rajasekharan.
Karra has been conferred with the award for his exemplary contribution in the political, administrative and social arena as a Minister in the Jammu and Kashmir Government. He is credited with initiating some innovative measures to set into motion fiscal and administrative reforms, which would go a long way in streamlining the financial management and boost resource mobilization laying strong foundations for a sustainable fiscal system in the State. Under his leadership, the State Government is for the first time coming out with a comprehensive report on the state of the economy that would be released on January 16.
