NSF protests President’s visit across Jammu region | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 25:National Secular Forum (NSF) today staged protest demonstrations against the President’s visit across Jammu region and also to show there resentment against delay in coming up with demands of NSF which have not met so far. A large number of NSF activists held demonstrations at several educational institutions of the region including Jammu University, Commerce College, Science College, MAM College, RS Pura Degree College, Bishnah, Akhnoor, Poonch and Rajouri. The protesters also burnt the effigy of Vice-Chancellor of Jammu Central University. In Jammu University, the protest was led by state president Vikas Sharma while in MAM College the protest was led by Jai Pal Singh. Mohan chib led the protesters in Commerce College while in Science College it was led by Mukesh Kumar. In R.S Pura the protest was led by Surjit Choudhary, In Bishnah it was led by Rajat Sharma, At Akhnoor the protest was led by Ajay Sharma and others. Holding placards and wearing black badges, the protesting students shouted slogans against the President’s visit to city of temples. Addressing media persons, NSF President Vikas Sharma said Dr PS Pathania has been on deputation to the Central University of Jammu as OSD Administration. He alleged that everyone knows that Dr Pathania is a corrupt official and several cases of irregularity are pending against him. Sharma further said that the Vice Chancellor CU-J Dr S S Baloria should have checked his credentials before taking him on deputation. But, he didn't bother to do that as a consequence, the NSF has launched stir against the removal of Dr Pathania from the University. Sharma added that there is every possibility of Pathania exploiting the official position in Central University because he is habitually a corrupt person. He urged the President to take the cognizance of matter and direct the Vice Chancellor to immediately remove from the position. He alleged that Vice-Chancellor is not taking note of their demands and maintaining stoic silence over the entire matter. He said that NSF will continue its struggle for the social cause and appealed the people of the state to come forward and exposed the corrupt.
