Assault on Sharad Pawar condemned | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 25:Gyani Lal Singh Memorial Society of Education & Research has strongly condemned yesterday’s assault on Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar. In an executive committee meeting of the Society held at Amar Colony, Jammu, the members described the incident as shameful act and were of the view that Sikhs have always carried a warrior background and a ruffian like acts of Delhi’s Sikh youth either related to advocate Parshant Bhushan or Sharad Pawar has embarrassed the whole community. While commenting on the issue, Deep Singh, the general secretary of the society said that it is the prime duty of the Sikh religious leaders to check the constant character degradation of the community particularly among the youth. Using of turban for copying in examinations or assaulting any human being is never an agenda of Sikhism, he added. He further stressed up on the Central and State Governments to act strictly against such element under Law in order to discourage the unwanted traditions. Society appealed the Sikh community as a whole to aware their generation about the rich values of Sikhism and maintain a cultural and disciplined survival at any cost. Rajinder Singh, Parvinder Singh, G T Singh and Gurpreet Singh also attended the meeting.
