Students of Tangdhar valley returns from educational tour

JAMMU , November 26 : 25 students and 2 teachers of remote Karnah Tehsil of Kupwara district have just returned from a fifteen day exhilarating, informative and inspiring “Watan ki Sair” under Army Sadhbhavana of the Chinar Corps.
The tour was conducted by 1 JAK RIF and Shakti Vijay Brigade under aegis of Vajr Div and covered Srinagar, Udhampur, Jammu, Lucknow, Agra and New Delhi.
The Army Cdr interacted with the children before the departure at Tithwal in the presence of Chinar Corps Cdr, GOC Vajr Div and Cdr Shakti Vijay Brigade.
At Lucknow, the students were given warm reception by AMC Centre under aegis of HQ Central Comd and they saw sprawling malls, Ambedkar Park, Chhotta & Bada Imam Baras and Zoo.
At Agra the children got the opportunity to witness spectacular Agra Fort, Taj Mahal and Fatehpur Sikri.
It was a rare and first opportunity for the students of this remote area to see for themselves the heritage and glitter of modern India finely packaged in the itinerary.
For many children, it was the first time on trains like Shatabdi and Luxury buses.
Zameer Ahmad one of the student said , “It was great to see the monuments that we have seen in books and photos come alive”.
Abdul Jawad was amazed at the marvel of Taj Mahal and said, “It is amazing to see how the craftsmen create such a building in the absence of machines”.
Iftikar Ahmed Lone the teacher accompanying the students, said “we are grateful to the Indian Army for this opportunity, which has changed perception of young children and they are now better prepared to pursue studies, choose their profession and contribute meaningfully as responsible citizens”.
