Crime Branch books two for running fake study centre | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 26: A team of Crime Branch booked two persons for running a fake study centre in this winter capital of the state. An official spokesman said in a statement issued here today that a complaint was lodged by one Samreen Chib, resident of New Plot, Jammu with the Crime Branch Headquarters, alleging an unauthorised study centre is being run by the suspects and fake degrees are being awarded to the candidates by indulging in mal-practices and violating UGC norms. “Acting on the complaint, the Crime Branch Wing registered a case under Sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 RPC against Sukhvinder Singh and Bhupinder Bhat, who were running the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (ICFAI) at 203 A-2 South Block, Bahu Palaza, Jammu, he added. Spokesperson said, “An inquiry was initiated and during the course of inquiry, it was found that the centre was initially headed by Sukhvinder Singh and after that it was being looked after by Bhupinder Bhat.” The study centre was neither a constituent of ICFAI, Tripura University nor functioning as counseling information centre. “A case has been registered and investigation are in progress,” he added.
