Pahari Speaking People hail Azad’s historic steps
Demand ST status to PSP

Vice Chairman Advisory Board for Development of Pahari Speaking people Mr. Shabir Ahmad Khan last evening lauded the government under the stewardship of Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad for formulating sub-plan for Pahari speaking people on the pattern of Gujjar and Backarwal sub-plan and also for extending wholehearted support to the community for their socio-economic transformation.
Chairing the meeting of the Board here today Mr. Khan today placed on record the appreciation of the community to the endeavors made by Chief Minister for uplift and economic emancipation of Pahari people.
During the meeting, a resolution was adopted unanimously urging state and central governments for grant of ST status to Pahari speaking people as demand already stands duly recommended to Government of India and same has been incorporated in CMP.
Describing the landmark decisions of the government as historic, the Board expressed satisfaction over the follow up action of the government in implementation of various welfare schemes.
The meeting discussed various issues pertaining to the development of Pahari speaking people in light of the decisions of Chief Minister taken in the 9th review meeting of the board.
The meeting was also apprised that a detailed sub-plan has been formulated and submitted to the government as per announcement of Chief Minister in the last meeting of the board.
“It would be a step forward for raising the socio- economic profile of this community,” the board maintained.
Among others the meeting was attending by MLA Mr. Puran Singh, Secretary Advisory board for PSP, Mr. Yashpal Sharma, Mr. Jehangir Mir, Mr. Vinod Mahajan, Mr. Lalit Mahajan, Mr. Ravinder Sharma, Mr. Gurdev Singh, Mr. Mohammad Shafi Dar, Mr. Jehangir and all members of the board.
