Jammuites remembers 26/11 Martyrs on 3rd anniversary

Jammu Nov 26: Rich tributes were today paid to the 26/11 martyrs on the third anniversary of the Mumbai terror attacks by various organizations in Jammu here today in different memorial occasions organized in winter capital of state.
In this connection, Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Fighters Association organized a special programme to pay tributes to those who were martyred in this terror attack on Nov 26, 2008. Former councilor and Congress leader Surinder Singh Shinghari was the chief guest on the occasion while association’s president Ved Gandotra was also present.
In another occasion Jammu & Kashmir People Democratic Party organized a ‘candle light ‘ march to pay tributes to the martyrs of 26/11 attack in Mumbai at Kachi Chawni under the leaders ship of youth leader Vikram Singh.
Meanwhile in another similar occasion residents of Shakti Nagar, under the banner of “Shakti Nagar Welfare Forum” organised a programme to pay homage to the Martyrs and Victims of Mumbai Terrorist Attack on its third anniversary.
Speaking on the occasion, Dineshwar Singh Jamwal, President Universal Foundation, said that India is still awaiting decisive action against perpetrators of the crime. He said that in today’s world, terrorism as an instrument of state policy is self destructive and the Pakistan is the best example of that.
S K Sehgal, Retd. DFO, Major B R Dogra, Dr M L Sharma and others also spoke on the occasion.
Yet another memorial ceremony was organized by National Panthers Students Union (NPSU) to pay homage and tributes the martyrs of 26/11.
In a candle light march activists of NPSU prayed for the peace of the late souls and also prayed for the unity of our country.
Speaking on the occasion Partap Singh Jamwal (Provincial President NPSU) said that 26/11 was a day which is written with the black ink in the Indian history on that day India lost a number of valuable lives of innocent people.
In another similar occasion the JPPF under the chairmanship of its President Pavitter Singh Bhardwaj along with office bearers Inderjeet Khajuria Sr Vice President, M L Sharma Finance Secretary, Rajiv Mahajan Media/Press Secretary, Rajesh Kesari Public relation officer, Amrit Magotra Office Secretary, Avinash Bhatia organizer, besides number of members paid homage to the late souls of the victims of the Mumbai terror Attack.
The members urged the Govt. to render full support to the bereaved families and their orphaned Children. The members also believed that justice must be delivered early and the militant and others involved in the massacre shall be punished.
