Indo-Pak troops exchange fire on LoC
11/27/2011 1:20:49 AM
Early Times Report
Jammu: A heavy exchange of fire took place between Indian and Pakistani troops across the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir after Pakistani troops targeted Indian forward posts early Saturday morning, army sources said. No casualties were reported.
It was around 4.30 in the morning when Pakistani troops opened fire at the forward Indian posts in the Krishnaghati sector in an apparent bid to push in terrorists from across the borderline, the sources said.
Indian troops retaliated in kind and the exchange of fire lasted for a little over two hours, they said. However, there was no casualty on the Indian side.
The Indian retaliation prevented the intrusion bid from across the LoC, the sources added.
