| MLC Gupta pays tributes to GL Dogra | | |

KATHUA, Nov 27:
MLC Subash Gupta paid rich tributes to former Finance Minister and
senior Congress leader Girdhari Lal Dogra on his 24th death
anniversary in Hiranagar today.
A large number of people were present to pay homage to the veteran
leader who was known for his simplicity and dedicated service to the
people.
Gupta recalled the contribution of Dogra towards the development of
the State. He especially highlighted his humility and single-minded
service towards the poor and deprived sections of the population,
saying one needs to learn from the example set by him to serve the
people. He said Dogra was a grassroots leader connected with the
ground and had a feel of the people’s problems and worked for their
solution throughout his life. He said the people of the State in
general and Jammu in particular are proud that such a great leader was
born here.
Gupta said politicians like Dogra were very few in number today and
asked political workers and leaders to take inspiration from him.
''It is because of these qualities people always remember and respect
him'', he said.
