NGO to start ‘Super Achievers Batch’ for IAS/KAS aspirants | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 27: The poor representation of the state youth in all the elite civil and professional services of the country has really a matter of concern for all. And to address this issue, a Non Government Organisation (NGO) has come forward to take the initiative of harnessing the talent in right earnest to achieve the desired results in the UPSC examinations. To begin with, the NGO in collaboration with various reputed institutes of the country has decided to start a Super Achievers Batch involving around 30 fresh graduates and post graduates desirous of trying and testing their talent for the Civil Services both at the national as well as state level. This was stated by President of the Universal Foundation, Dineshwar Jamwal in a media interaction held here this afternoon. Besides highlighting the social and cultural activities of the NGO, he dwelt at length on the need for providing a comprehensive programme, encompassing counseling and coaching for the Civil Services aspirants and general public awareness. In his opinion, Jamwal observed that the youth of J&K have adequate and requisite Civil Services talent but due to lack of proper guidance and dearth of financial and academic resources they are compelled by circumstance to let their intellectual energies stray away in wilderness. President also announced that the NGO has confidently roped in the services of the SR College of Competitions, the No. 1 Civil Services Academy of the state to cater to the coaching requirements of the aspirants. Emphasizing on the free coaching programme, Sharma disclosed that SR College pools the services of teaching faculty-cum- resource personnel of J&K State besides seeking collaboration with Delhi based Civil Services academies including Medha IAS Delhi, Ayush IAS Delhiand Kalinga IAS. Sharing his view point, Vikas Singh of Medha IAS said that there is no doubt that talent abounds in the state and a large number of candidates have the potential and urge to crack the Civil Services examinations. This is amply borne out by the selection of Shah Faisal at the top of the list for UPSC 2009. “ There is a dire need to make the youth of J&K aware about the Civil Services examinations who otherwise have competence but just need a proper exposure and timely guidance to crack the prestigious examinations,” said Vikas Singh.
