Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 27: It was nearly after two months since the mysterious death of National Conference worker Haji Mohammad Yousaf come to the forefront and subsequently announcement of government for judicial probe into the alleged allegations level against Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and his father Dr. Farooq Abdullah by the family members of the deceased, One man Justice B.S Bedi Commission is all set to begin its probe from Wednesday and according to well placed sources within the government, Guest House in Srinagar has been designated as his office and among his staff members one serving Additional District Magistrate and a senior police officer will assist Bedi in his probe.
As per the modalities of Commission of inquiry constituted by the Omar Abdullah led coalition Government, the Commission will submit its preliminary report to government within six months from the day Bedi starts its probe. The family members of Hajji Mohammad Yousaf has already rejected the probe initiated by the Omar Abdullah, since the family members feels that Omar Abdullah might influence the probe by the commission, since he is one of the accused into the mysterious death of yousaf. If sources are to be believed, the office of Justice Bedi which has been established inside Guest House Srinagar is located within the high security zone that can cause a hindrance for smooth accesses of eyewitness to the office of the commission and will certainly makes an impact on the smooth probe.
The political stalwarts in the state of Jammu and Kashmir as well as in New Delhi are keeping its close eye on the findings of Justice Bedi into the mysterious murder of Hajji Mohammad Yousaf. The main opposition parties in state including PDP and BJP has already out rightly rejected the probe initiated by Omar Abdullah Government. Both BJP and PDP have demanded the resignation of Omar Abdullah for ensuring free and fair probe. More over as per the modalities of inquiry commission, Justice Bedi will have to submit its preliminary or final report to the government which means the report will be made public only after Omar Abdullah feels that the report is fit to be tabled either before the Assembly or before the media or before the public. Even though nobody knows what will be the outcome of Justice Bedi report, but the important question which Omar Abdullah need to be answered, Is he (Omar Abdullah) too honest to implement Justice Bedi Commission report even through both he and his father will be found guilty by the inquiry Commission?
It is worthwhile to mention that Justice Bedi Commission was constituted by the government to probe mysterious death of Hajji Mohammad Yousaf only after Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir turned down the request of state government in which state government requested for providing a sitting High Court Judge for conducting an inquiry into Hajji Yousaf's death.
