J&K state expenditure double than total revenue and annual plan | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Nov 28: The total revenue and state annual plan was less than half of the expenditures in Jammu and Kashmir, which has now received Rs 1,000 crore as water usage charges from the NHPC. Official figures available here said the revenue of the state was only Rs 3,600 crore against the expenditure of Rs 21,000 crore. More than 3.5 lakh state government employees are being paid Rs 13,000 crore as salaries per annum when the annual plan of the state is only Rs 6,500. However, for the first time the state government has received Rs 1000 crore as water usage charges from the NHPC. The government is considering to take back the Uri and Salal Hydel Projects which would later help to enhance the revenue earning by Rs 45,000 crore.
