| Speaker reviews pace of progress on new legislative complex | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 28:The Speaker Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, Mohammad Akbar Lone today chaired a high level meeting of officers of JKPCC, Estates, R&B, Home, Revenue, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Jammu, Jammu Development Authority, Assembly and Council Secretariat to review the progress on the construction of new Jammu Legislative Complex.
The meeting was informed that Rs 12.05 crore has already been released for the project against the total allocation of awarded grant of Rs 50 crore. It was also informed that Rs 6 crore more would be released shortly for the purpose.
Threadbare discussion was held on shifting of existing structures under the occupation of Estates department, Legislative Assembly, Legislative Council and CRPF and for its alternate arrangements.
The Speaker asked the MD JKPCC, Secretary Assembly, Secretary Council to conduct joint survey under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner and identify the space for security and others whose structures are being removed and submit report to his office.
The Speaker directed the executing agencies to speed up the pace of work and complete the project within the stipulated time frame.
