Udhampur police challans 1749 vehicles | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT UDHAMPUR, Nov 28: Udhampur police has challaned 1749 passenger vehicles in district during the recent drive against overloading and have realized fine of Rs. 5.32 lakh. In a statement, SSP Udhampur, Shakeel Ahmad Beig said that the drive has been launched with a view to substantially reduce fatal road accidents in the district. In this connection road safety awareness camps have been organized to educate the road users with regard to their safety. Beig has said, “We are very much concerned about the safety of public on roads. We feel it is important for the citizens to be well educated with the traffic rules and road safety measures”. He said that road user should know that overloaded passenger vehicles are highly prone to the fatal accidents, therefore all SHOs Supervisory Officers of district are taking no chances in this regard and drive against overloading in passenger vehicles will continue till the menace of overloading is put to an end.
