| IG Kashmir’s PA suspended on corruption charges | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, Nov 28 (KNS): Inspector General of Police Kashmir Range, S M Sahai has placed his Personal Assistant (PA) under suspension on the alleged corruption charges, sources told KNS.
They said Imtiyaz Hussain, PA to IGP Kashmir was suspended after preliminary enquiry charges were found correct. “Recently the IGP had conducted durbars in district Pulwama and other districts of the Valley to listen grievances of the officials of the department. Some officials had requested the IGP for transfer on compassionate grounds,” police sources said.
“The IGP had directed his PA to prepare the list of genuine cases. However, the PA allegedly had taken money from non-deserving officials to include their name in the transfer proposal,” they added.
A senior police official told KNS that after the matter came into the notice of the IGP and preliminary enquiry charges were found correct, Sahai ordered Hussain’s immediate suspension.
