| Locals protest against ‘use of sub standard material’ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Kathua Nov 28: The people of the Shiva Nagar Kathua held a protest demonstration against the district administration and the Lane and Drain department Jammu for constructing the sewerage cover with low and sub-standard material which gave way just within ten days after its construction.
Protestors including namely Ajay Sharma, Mohinder Kumar, Ashawani, Parkash Chand, Om Parkash, Col. Sangram Singh, Ram Das, Charan Das, Kuldeep Singh, Rahul Dev, Vijay Jamwal, Sandeep Deepak Singh and others alleged the concerned executing agency used sub standard material causing problem to the people of the Shiva Nagar. They urged the district administration to take the sample of material to check the adulteration of this material used for the construction and demanded investigation by State Vigilance Organization to check the causes of collapse of sewerage cover.
Meanwhile the Junior Engineer S Rajinder Singh maintained that the construction material was of high quality and standard but people who were asked not to use the way even got their vehicles to pass on just after few hours of the construction which causes the early collapse of construction
