132 wooden clefts recovered | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 28: Ramban Police today recovered 132 wooden sleepers during a special raid in Dhar Gali area under the jurisdiction of Police Station Ramban. Police has registered case against three accused allegedly involved in the crime but managed to give slip to police. Police reports claimed that following a tip from reliable sources about unabated cutting of the green forest in Dhar Gali area a special team headed by SHO Ramban under personal briefing by SP Ramban Anil Magotra took action and conducted raids in this regard. The Police team during its search plan recovered 132 numbers of wooden sleepers clandestinely hidden under the ground while some were recovered from the houses of the three accused allegedly involved in timber smuggling. The accused who reportedly managed to escape from the police have been identified as Bahadur Singh S/o Dharam Singh; Surjeet Singh S/O Gurdass and Bahadur Singh S/o Sant Ram all Resident of Dhar Gali. A formal FIR in the matter u/s 6/39 forest Act & 379 RPC has been lodged and the investigation of the case is in progress.
