Omar's ‘close aide’ calls shots in CM's office: Rattanpuri | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 28: National Conference MP from South Kashmir, GN Ratanpuri believes Jammu Kashmir was a police state. Besides his encounter with the police, he lightened his burden by making a mention of Chief Minister's close aide. He said the aide trying to impose Gulab Singh's rule in the state. The MP has not named anybody and all attempts to contact him on his local and Delhi cell phones went in vain. However slight application of mind helps in identifying him (CM's aide). He happens to be the most detested person in NC's senior circles. The `mauled' MP said the CM's `close aide' wanted to "teach me a lesson when I tried to present the true picture of NC in the Chief Minister's office. He wants to take state back to 1853 when Gulab Singh ruled the state. This shows who calls shots in Chief Minister's office." Omar's close aide is a renowned and successful businessman but a new entrant into politics. The Chief Minister of a troubled state must have an experienced political advisor. The aide does not know much about politics his claims to the contrary notwithstanding. He almost caused cracks in the National Conference. Seniors like Ali Muhammad Sagar and Rahim Rather, according to insiders do not get the respect they deserve. A dismayed Rather even did not respond to Chief Minister's phone calls for quite some time. The NC has denied this but people who want to end aide's growing influence on the Chief Minister corroborate this. During early days of Omar's regime, the scribes could get him on his cell phone. The Chief Minister even responded to SMS of journalists. But then came a time when Omar went for media gag. Scribes were beaten and circulation of newspapers banned. Most of the scribes see his hand in the onslaught on the fourth estate. |
