| Khoda reviews law-order in valley at officers’ meeting | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, NOV 29: The Director General of Police (DGP), Kuldeep Khoda on Tuesday asserted that Jammu and Kashmir Police would take all measures to maintain lasting peace in the State. He said that people’s cooperation has encouraged “our will to curb the militancy” and bring State back on the rails of development.
DGP Khoda was addressing senior police officers representing various districts of Kashmir Zone at a meeting convened to review law and order in the valley, here this morning.
The DGP sought reports from the SSPs and SPs about law and order situation in their respective districts. Threadbare discussions were held with regard to the overall law and order situation of the valley.
During the meeting, the officers put forth their immediate requirements pertaining to the up-gradation of police stations, police posts, SDPOs office, district police lines, improvement of accommodation, mobility and acquisition of land for construction of more accommodation and barracks for jawans at various places in the valley. The DGP assured the officers present that all possible financial assistance would be made available by the PHQ.
The DGP emphasized upon the officers to maintain the law and order with the people’s cooperation at all levels.
He said that with the active cooperation of the people, the force has succeeded in eradicating the menace of militancy and restoring peace in the State.
The Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, S M Sahai, who was also present in the meeting, stressed for further improvement in general policing and stressed for observing professionalism at all ranks. He said that while dealing with the militants it should be ensured that common people are put to least inconvenience.
Later, Khoda presented special rewards and cheques to the district SSPs and SPs for distribution among the personnel who took part in anti-militancy operations and displayed highest sense of honesty and integrity in saving human lives and public property.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Deputy Inspectors General of Police, Abdul Ghani Mir, Muneer Khan and Shafaka Watali, all SSsP and SsP of Kashmir Zone and other police officers.
