MLC Taing inaugurates State Art Exhibition

EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu Nov 29: State Art Exhibition was organized by Jammu and Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts in collaboration with J&K Academy of Art Culture and languages organized State Art exhibition at Kala Kendra Jammu today in which more than sixty artist belonging to different part of J&K State participated.
Painting Sculpture, Drawing, Photograph etc were showcased for public view during the exhibition which shall remain open till 4th December 2011.
Former Director General Culture and MLC, MY Taing was the chief Gust while Sohail Qazami General Secretary Press Club was guest of Honour the function
In his address the Chief Guest MY Taing congratulated the organizer of JKCCA and lauded efforts to organize such events in the interest of artist fraternity. He said that there is dire need to organise more such events in state so that people get closely acquainted with the Arts culture of state and artists get chance to display their creative work/talent.
Guess of Honour Sohail Qazami said that every co-operation shall be provided to the central for further activities in the interest of Art and Culture. Triloke Koul, veteran artist of the state appreciated the role of Director JKCCA to organize such events which serves as great encouragement to the artist community.
Earlier O P Sharma, Director, Jammu and Kashmir Centre for Creative Art gave details of various activities initiated by JKCCA and mentioned that similar functions were organised at Chandigarh , Amritsar , Shimla, Delhi, Jaipur etc.
Director JKCCA further disclosed in the coming months the centre is going to organize National Art festival at Jammu and also joint exhibition of painting of the veteran and senior artist of the state which will be organized at Amritsar, Kurukshetra, Dehradun, Jaipur, Delhi and Hyderabad.
