No more suppression of honest people by the government : Rao | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 29: An active member of All J&K Movement for peace and Justice Kuldeep Kumar Rao said that the Lokpal Bill as presented in the Lok Sabha had fallen short of the expectations of common man. It was like introducing unequal laws as existed in autocratic regimes in the past. To keep the PM, the MP’s and the higher judiciary outside its purview, will make it a very weak institution. The government’s plea in favour of judiciary that it is they who will look into the complaints against the Lokpal is faulty because the whole higher serving judiciary will not look after it, rather a panel of retired judges of Supreme Court & High Courts can be & should be constituted for the purpose. As for MP’s are concerned, innumerable cases of corruption like note for vote, using money & muscle power in elections, their previous criminal affiliation etc have come to light in the past through print & electronic media & so the Democle’s Sward must hang over their heads too. All J&K Movement for peace and Justice strongly supports the bold voice of team Anna which it has raised against such a faulty bill as presented earlier in the Lok Sabha. Now stepping up pressure on Lok Pal issue, Anna Hazare has decided to hold a dharna on 11,December, if the parliamentary standing committee’s proposals on the bill were not to the expectations of the people of India. Then they will lead a day-long protest on 11 December at Jantar Mantar if the Standing committee does not come up with expected provisions in the bill.
