| Siraj Bagh emerging world’s largest tulip garden:Azad | | | Srinagar, January 10 Chief Minister Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad today conducted extensive inspection of Siraj Bagh which is coming up as the world’s largest tulip garden on the banks of famous Dal lake. Being developed over more than 600 kanals of land, 3.5 lakh tulips have been planted in the garden and these and other flowers are expected to bloom from April to November next presenting an enchanting and fascinating sight for the visitors. Chief Minister went round different sections and instructed for further development of the garden. He said the garden should come up as a major tourist attraction and more varieties of flowers should be planted in the garden. Mr Azad instructed that the expansion of the garden should be in such a manner so that about 9 lakh tulips bloom in the garden by next year. The expansion plan of the garden has been designed on 2000 kanals of land facing Dal lake. The Chief Minister directed that proper attention should be paid to the pathways, layouts, and tourists visiting this place should get fascinated with its panoramic and charming view. Legislators Mr. Kaiser Jamsheed Lone and Mr Kafeel-Ur-Rehman, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Mr Basharat Ahmed and senior officers were accompanying Chief Minister.
