| GDC Samba women script victory in volleyball | | | early times report
JAMMU, Nov 29: Government Degree College (GDC) Samba and GDC Poonch won their respective matches in the ongoing inter-college women's cricket tournament, organised by the Department of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, here today.
In the first match of the day, Poonch trounced GDC Hiranagar in straight sets of 25-16, 25-13, 25-17. From winners Poonch, Richa Bali played a key role as both striker as well as defender.
Later, in another match, GDC Samba downed GDC Kathua, again in straight sets of 25-13, 25-08, 25-17. Both the sides fielded sub-standard teams resulting into improper services and foul play by the spikers most of the time.
Meanwhile, other four scheduled matches ended in walkovers. Teams getting walkovers were GDC Ramangar, Government College for Women (GCW) Parade, GCW Kathua and PG Departments.
Today's matches were officiated by Shashi Sharma, Pt. Mulkh Raj and Dr Rajinder. |
