| Kashyap Sports scripts emphatic win over Warriors in Champions Trophy | | | early times report
JAMMU: Kashyap Sports Club registered a resounding win by 6 wickets over Warriors Cricket Club in the ongoing Champions Trophy T20 Cricket Tournament, organised by Simula Cricket Club at MA Stadium, here. Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Warriors scored a modest total of 127 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. Lakhan was the top scorer with 50 runs including four superbly timed boundaries, while Javed and Pawan contributed 21 and 16 runs to the total respectively. For Kashyap, Kuldeep scalped 2/17 in his four overs, while Parveen Singh, Satish and Ashu claimed one wicket apiece. Kashyap Sports Club, in reply chased the target in 18.3 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus scripted a convincing win by 6 wickets. Parveen Singh played a fabulous knock of 41 runs with the help of 5 delectable boundaries, while Ashu made magnificent 38 runs including 3 fours. Puneet and Satish remained unbeaten at 20 and 14 runs respectively. Puneet hit two fours and a huge six in his 10-ball brief knock. For Warriors, Neeraj, Bablu and Javed claimed one wicket apiece.
The match was officiated by Sohail and Amit as umpires, while Yogesh Sharma maintained the scorebook. The tournament is being organised by Simula Sports Club, under the supervision of Hilal Rather (Chairman Organising Committee), Rajesh Gill (Vice-Chairman), Rajesh Dhar (Convener Technical Committee) and Shashi Pal (Organising Secretary).
