| Model Academy holds Annual Sports Meet | | |  early times report
JAMMU, Nov 29: Model Academy, Jammu organised its Annual Sports Meet on School Campus at BC Road, here today. Both branches of the school participated in the event.
Director MIER, Dr Renu Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion and Dr Adit Gupta, Joint Director was the Guest of Honour. Principal RR School Rupa Gupta presented welcome address.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Ruchika Gupta Project Director Humming Buds, Usha Gadoo, Vice Principal Model Academy, Gayatri Kotwal, Coordinator Primary Wing and Manju Vali, Convener Co Curricular Activities. The Chief Guest was presented with a bouquet and memento by the head boy and head girl and Vice Principal Mrs. Usha Gadoo.
The programme commenced with NCC Cadets leading the Chief Guest to podium for the inaugural event. Rohan Kapoor a national player led the torch and took a round of the school along with all the participants of various sports event. This was followed by oath taking ceremony and declaration of Sports meet open by the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion Dr Renu Gupta encouraged the students to play hard to excel at the national level. She also emphasized the necessity to develop a spirit of true sportsmanship among all students. She also congratulated the students who took part in different events at the National level.
The students from classes 1st to 7th took part in frog race, hoping race, kim race, sack race, hurdle race, 50 mts race and relay race. Whereas, from classes 8th to 12th participated in various Inter house events like Volley Ball, Basket Ball and Badminton. The winners received medals of honour for different sports events. The staff members also took part in tug of war event and were rewarded with medals.
As part of Platinum Jubilee Celebration Thirteen 'Best Student of the Year' who excelled in various fields were honoured by Dr Renu Gupta.
The whole programme was co- ordained by Usha Chuni Sports Officer of MIER. Vote of Thanks was presented by Gayatri Kotwal. Apurva Gupta student of class 8th was the programme presenter. |
