NC in Mud Slinging: Gul targets Party MP says Rattanpuri has lost his balance | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 29: The mudslinging within the National Conference has taken serious turn as Advisor to the Chief Minister & National Conference senior leader Mubarak Gul said that Ghulam Nabi Rattanpuri is allowing his frustration to get the better of him and defended Chief Minister by saying that Rattanpuri is targeting Omar who was instrumental in carving a place for him in the political spectrum of the state. In his press statement issued today Gul remarked 'a small time broadcaster with Radio Kashmir failed to digest his elevation to the Rajya Sabha and thus is involved in making absurd, frivolous baseless statements.' Advisor to the Chief Minister & National Conference senior leader Mubarak Gul said it is unfortunate that Rattanpuri who was till the other day a small time broadcaster with the Radio Kashmir failed to perform his duties as a Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament has lost his balance and is making baseless statements which are figment of his imagination and are bereft of facts. Defending the chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Gul as a staunch loyalist stated it is sad that he is targeting Omar Abdullah the man who was instrumental in carving a place for him in the political spectrum of the state by first giving him mandate to contest the state assembly elections in 2008 where he secured only 3246 votes and finished third and then nominating him to Rajya Sabha. Gul added it is Rattanpuri who is disgruntled and not the party because even the District Pulwama which he represents, he is not been able to create any base for himself despite being a Member of Parliament for over two years. "Rattanpuri is a failed parliamentarian and a failed rootless politician like Rattanpuri should not have the audacity to comment upon the performance of other political entities, he stated. Daring Party MP (Rajya Sabha) Gul said, "If Rattanpuri had the courage of conviction he should test his strength in the court of the people, let alone contesting an election he is incapable of even organizing a road side public meeting". Gul challenged Rattanpuri to organize a public meeting to test his track record as a Member of Parliament and his contribution to his own area. Advisor to the Chief Minister Gul stated, "As a senior leader and elder brother I advise Rattanpuri if he wants to succeed in public life he should stop hiding behind wild and frivolous allegations and start to let his work speak for himself, so far the sound of his work has been ominously silent". Concluding in a typical satire to Rattanpuri, Gul said, "It is tragic that somebody like Gh Nabi Rattanpuri who professes to be educated and belongs to a party like National Conference with strong roots in all parts of the state would try and play such politics and does not behave like a Rajya Sabha Member". |
