| Govt lambasted for blowing bugle of equitable development | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 30: A meeting of WP was held under the chairmanship of Sanjeev Manmotra, State working President WP. In the meeting the WP leaders accused the state government of blowing the bugle of equitable development in all region of the state. They said that equal growth and development is not possible without suspension of Delimitation commission implementations till 2026 is unfortunate. This has led to injustice with the Jammu Province which has more population and area than Kashmir but only 37 Assembly seats have been provided to it as compared to Kashmir valley which has 46 assembly seats with less population and covers less area as compared to Jammu. They said that of equitable development to all the regions, the earlier decision needs to be withdrawn to give justice to Jammu province. The main demands of the people of Jammu region are delimitation of Assembly as well as parliamentary constituencies, allotment of CET seats on regional bases, creation of New Tehsils & Districts on the bases of equal distribution of population in comparison to those of Kashmir Division, equal and near equal number of employees in the civil secretariat from both the regions of the state, and equal distribution of funds to both the divisions. They alleged that the ruling alliance makes hollow announcements in this regard but does nothing practically. For example all parties say that delimitation is a genuine demand. NC, Congress, BJP,NPP and Independents from a clear 2/3rd majority. Then why don't they get the delimitation done. Though without PDP also, 2/3 majority is formed, the PDP itself should support the delimitation demand as it is genuine. The J&K state has special and can easily do this with 2/3 majority but the government is not sincere. The meeting was attended by Anil Kumar Bhagat ,National General Secretary, Dalit Sena, M.R.Puri, National Secretary, K.K.Rao, General Secretary, Madan Gopal Secretary Subash Baha. President Jammu Rural, Sanjay Kumar vice President Dalit and others.
