| PM’s Reconstruction Plan | | | An amount of Rs. 634 crore is being spent for laying of Srinagar-Leh Transmission Line besides construction of 100 Mini Hydel Projects in Ladakh region under Prime Minister’s Reconstruction Package. In addition, it is proposed to construct 45 MW Nemo-Bazgo and 44 MW Chutak projects under the package. This was stated by the Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Muzaffar Hussain Baig in reply to a question of Mr. P. Namgyal in Legislative Council today. He said 12 kms Zojila Tunnel and two tourism development authorities one each at Leh and Kargil have also be developed under the package. He said double laning of Srinagar-Leh road via Kargil has been taken up which he is a component of the PM’s Reconstruction Package. Mettaled road upto Amarnath Cave Government has decided to construct a black topped road upto Holy Cave Shrine of Amarnath from Ranga Sangam to facilitate devotees. This was stated by the Minister of State for R&B Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak in reply to supplementary of member in the House today. Her said in the first phase 7 kms road from Ranga Morh to Baltal and in second phase 10 kms road from Baltal onward upto Sangam is proposed to be constructed. The proposed road would be constructed after fulfilling all codel formalities including ecological preservation of the area. Replying to main question of Mr. Nizam-ud-Din, the Minister said that at present government has no proposal for construction of road for Chandanwari to Amarnath Cave. |
