Ranji Trophy Plate Group-B Match | Strong reply by Maharashtra against J&K | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 30: Riding on a magnificent opening partnership of 113 runs between HH Khadiwale and CG Khurana, Maharashtra gave a strong reply to J&K by scoring 204 for the loss of two wickets at stumps today against J&K's first innings score of 388 runs in the ongoing Ranji Trophy Plate Group-B match at Chhatarpati Shivaji Stadium, Ratnagiri in Maharashtra. Earlier, resuming their innings from overnight score of 302/8, Samiullah Beigh and Abid Nabi played sensibly to take the score to 381 before falling in quick succession at their individual scores of 69 and 37 runs respectively and took the team's total to 388 for all. Adil (88), Dogra and Hardeep (45 runs each) and Shubam (34) were the main contributors yesterday. AK Darekar was the chief wrecker from Maharashtra, who bagged five wickets, while SM Fallah and Dominic Joseph claimed 2 wickets each. Maharashtra replied strongly as openers CG Khurana and HH Khadiwale made a partnership of 113 runs before Khadiwale was trapped LBW by off-spinner Parvez Rasool at his individual score of 43 runs. Abid Nabi then scalped another opener Khurana at 81 runs, caught by wicket-keeper Manish Dogra. SD Ititkar was unbeaten on 56 and NS Paradkar on 11 and ended the day at 204/2. However, Maharashtra is still trailing by 184 runs with 8wickets in hand. Abid Nabi and Parvez Rasool were the successful bowlers for J&K, who took a wicket each. |
