| Programme on water drinking mission organised | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 01: As part of the National Rural Drinking Water Mission campaign, the Udhampur unit of the Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India organized a special interactive programme at Government Higher Secondary School, Khoon in Majalta block of the district.
The progamme was coordinated with the Rural Development, Public Health Engineering and Education Departments. Ramesh Chander Gupta, sarpanch, Khoon Panchayat was the chief guest while Omkar Narang, inchage principal of the school presided over the function.
Speaking on this occasion, Anil Sharma, Dev Raj, Sonika Sharma, Abdul Rashid of Education department and Capt. Sardar Ali, Naib Surpunch, Khoon, Asha Rani, Panch Khoon, Chain Singh, Surpunch, Palano of Rural Development highlighted the necessity of water and adjoined upon the audience not to waste the water.
During the programme, a special question answer session was also arranged in which villagers and the officials from PHE, Rural Development, Education and Panchyats freely discussed about hardships being faced by the villagers, educational institutions and its redressal was sought from the concerned quarters.
