| Notice to centre and state govt regarding iron barrier erection on canal | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu Dec 1: Jammu & Kashmir High Court, Jammu issued notice to the Union of India and State of Jammu & Kashmir in a writ petition filed by one Katoch seeking direction to the respondents for construction of iron barrier towards western side of Ranbir Canal, Jammu.
Justice GM Masoodi of Jammu & Kashmir High Court, Jammu responding to the petition regarding construction of iron barrier of western side of Ranbir Canal issued notice to the Union of India and State of Jammu & Kashmir.
The petitioner in the writ has alleged that towards the Western Side of Ranbir Canal there is National Highway and thousands of vehicles ply day and night. It is further alleged that from Jammu to Akhnoor there are 20 Schools, 10 Colleges and -10 Banquet Halls and every year news come that so many people have died with accidents as there is no Iron Barrier. The petitioner further alleged that inspite of the accidents, resulting into Deaths, the Respondents have not taken any step to take the preventive measures. The Justice Masoodi after issuing the notices directed the listing of the case immediately after 2 (two) weeks.
