Kashmir Univ 'delays' B. Tech result, job seekers left in lurch
12/1/2011 10:33:05 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR: Dece 1:The 'dilly-dally tactics' of the University of Kashmir (KU) authorities in declaring results of final year B.Tech in electronics and communication have rendered hundreds of aspirants for telecommunication Sub-Inspectors post in disarray.
“We approached concerned authorities for declaring the result in time. Initially after being assured we were confident that they will declare results before the last date of filling the form for Sub-inspectors post. But tomorrow (Thursday) is last date and result is nowhere,” an applicant said.

The aspiring candidates were paying a visit to every concerned official in Kashmir University to help in declaring the result in time so that they can submit the application for S.I. post. But all their efforts did not yield any result.

The students alleged that after reminding the authorities about their promise of declaring the result in time, they refused to listen and forced us to leave the office.

“We again went there with a hope that something might come out. But officials simply refused to listen to us,” said Shah Zubair, a final year student of B.Tech Electronics and Communication from SSM college Pattan who has also applied for telecommunication sub-inspectors in police departments.

He said after failing to come up with a concrete reason about delaying the results, they tried to pass the buck to the college authorities by claiming that result of practical tests have yet to reach to KU.

According to sources who are in known of things said that construction work in Examination cell has led to delay in declaring exams.

The aspirants have now appealed to V.C. Kashmir University to help in declaring the results in time. However they are optimistic of help from top police bosses in extending the date of submitting the applications.

The Deputy Controller Examinations, Kashmir University, Bashir Ahmed Rather was not available for comments despite repeated attempts to contact him over the phone.
