Carmel, Kunjwani conducts AIDS awareness programme

EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Dec 1: World Aids Day was celebrated by the girls of class VII – X.
A special prayer service was conducted at the morning assembly. They prayed specially for the patients of AIDS, who suffer a lot of discrimination from the society.
A special seminar was organized in the school for all the girls of Std. VII – X (nearly 700 girls).
Sufia Khan from Govt. Medical College, Dept. of Microbiology and master trainer from GFATM, helped the girls to understand the meaning of AIDS , how to prevent this disease, symptoms and care.
The young girls also had many questions to ask. Through all the posters and reading material that was supplied by Jammu Aids Control Society, the staff and students were educated on the dreaded disease.
AIDS calls for an attitudinal change in the society. Let us together join hands to eradicate this disease from the world.
