Municipal Employees Union meet held

Jammu, Dec 1: The meeting of Municipal Employees Union (ministerial) was held today on under the presidentship of Rohit George, president of Union to discuss the various issues/problems being faced by the Municipal employees and also discussed the outcome /progress related to the consideration of charters of demands which were earlier submitted to the Municipal administration.
The union also urged the Municipal Administration to concede the demands which were mentioned in the said charters of demands which include re-organization of JMC.
The limits of the Corporation have been extended from 23 wards to 71 wards in year 2004-05 but the strength of the staff is same. So the re-organization is necessary for smooth functioning of corporation.
The Corporation which is functioning across the tunnel known as SMC have Ward Officers right from its establishment but there is no ward officers in JMC.
The posting of ward officers is in the best interest of the corporation as well as general public to provide better facilities at there door steps by opening the ward offices in each ward.
So there is need to post these officers at the earliest.
A fresh D.P.C meeting may also be conducted at the earliest. It is further mentioned here that the two posts of section officers are lying vacant since long which may be filled up. Change of designation of technically qualified helpers/peons as LSGD, Diploma in Civil Engineering as well as ITI Diploma Holders.
It also included framing new policy to make compassionate appointment .To make policy to appoint next dependent of the deceased employee on compassionate grounds so that the family of the deceased may not suffer any financial hardships in these crucial days of price hiking.
Those who were present include Koushal Kumar, Jeevan Singh, Mohd Shariff, Basanti Razdan, Gopal Krishan, S. Amarjeet Singh Rakesh Kumar, Sushil Singh, Ravinder Bhat, Sharda Kumari, Ruksana Bano. Sunaina, Jasbir Singh, Sat Pal , Ramesh Kumar, Aman Singh, Rajesh Gupta, Madan Baru, Ashwani Sharma, Kamaldeep Singh, Ramesh Bhagat, Satish Kohli, Pranav Jamwal & Ajay Verma .
