Bovine smuggling bid foiled, 1 held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 01: Police today foiled a bovine smuggling bid in Kathua by arresting a man who was trying to illegally carry cattle to Kashmir in a truck. The accused was identified as Faiz Ahmed, son of Ghulam Ali of Rangoora, Jammu. Police sources said during routine checking of vehicles on the national highway at Sanjwan Morh in Kathua, cops intercepted a truck (JK02AK/6741) and, during its checking, recovered 11 milch animals from it. The truck and the cattle were then seized and Faiz arrested. He was booked under section 188 of RPC and section 3 of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
