| North Zone Insurance Employees Association held protest against FDI | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU , December 1: As per the call of All India Insurance Employees Association to hold protest demonstrations against UPA Government decision to allow FDI in retail sector, all the insurance employees of J&K held protest demonstration s during lunch recess under the banner of North Zone Insurance Employees Association, Srinagar Division. Demonstrations were led by Com. A M Tantray and H U Koul at Srinagar and Com Rajesh Gupta, Vice President, NZIEA Srinagar Division . Com Dinesh Sharma, Secretary D. O. Cell, Jammu at Jammu.
Speaking an the occasion, Com. Dinesh Sharma strongly opposed the decision of the Government of India to allow 51% FDI in multi-brand retail and 100% FDI in Single Brand Retail.
He said that this decision of the Government will ruin the small traders and also result in deployment of workers working with these traders. So there will be a huge job loss for the workers in India; while the Govt. is bent upon providing benefits to the MNCs of other countries under the pressure of IMF, World Bank and United States of America at the cost of its own people.
