Earlier, resuming from an overnight score of 204/2, Maharashtra batsmen played sensibly on a batting friendly track to pile a mammoth 479/5 in 131 overs against J&K’s first innings total of 388 runs. AR Bawne scored a splendid century and was unbeaten on 104 runs when the stumps were drawn today. He was partnered by KM Jadhav unbeaten on 45 runs. For J&K, off-spinner Parvez Rasool and speedster Ram Dayal scalped two wickets each, while pacer Abid Nabi took one wicket. With already leading by 91 runs, Maharashtra is expected to try for an outright victory tomorrow.
