JAMMU, Dec 1: State government today posted Darbari Lal Sharma as General Manager (GM) State Forest Corporation (SFC) headquarters.
Sharma was posted as GM SFC vide SFC order No: 470/2011 issued by Managing Director (MD) of SFC Abay Kumar. Sharma is basically from SFC pool, since among the 13 posts of General Managers/Chief General Managers in SFC department, 10 post are with the IFS officers and with the appointment of Sharma, the total strengthen of SFC bound GM's goes up to three.
Sharma will now join Nisar Peerzada GM North SFC Kashmir and A.K. Sharma, in- charge GM East Doda circle among SFC officials on top posts of the department presently battling for its survival. However, government so far is tight lipped over the issue of shifting of surplus staff in SFC department to other forest departments who are facing hardships on account of shortage of manpower.
It is worthwhile to mention that the IFS officers posted in SFC department enjoys one step higher rank then their parental department, beside IFS officer pay is triple then any General Manager from SFC department. Question now arises that despite knowing the facts that SFC is suffering on financial front, but despite that government posted 10 of its forest officials in SFC is a matter of concern as far as survival of SFC is concerned. |
