| 40 farmers from Kupwara to visit HP, Punjab and Haryana | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, Dec 2:A group of 40 farmers from the frontier district of Kupwara will visit different institutes in Himachal Pradesh (HP), Punjab and Haryana.
Officials said here today that the tour has been organised under Macro-Management Programme.
They said Additional District Development Commissioner , Kupwara, Itrat Hussain Rafiquie flagged off the tour of farmers who shall be visiting different institutions to acquaint them from the latest technology in the field of agriculture.
The farmers shall be visiting relevant places during the tour.
Speaking on the occasion, Rafiquie asked that the aim of the tour is to acquaint them from the latest technology in the field of agriculture which should be adopted to improve productivity and to encourage other farmers to adopt the same after their return.
The Chief Agriculture Officer, Kupwara, Mushtaq Ahmad Parray said touring farmers were very much enthusiastic with regard to acquaint themselves with modern technology and some unemployed youths were interested to look in the schemes of the self employment like Mushroom Cultivation, Bee Keeping, Vegetable and Floriculture.
He said objective of such tours is to make farmers aware about latest research in agriculture sector.
