Rahat quits from primary membership of SJP-R

JAMMU, Dec 2:Prof Zulaqar Ali Rahat State President Samajwadi Janta Party-Rashtriya (SJP-R) has tendered resignation from the primary membership of the party.
In a press statement issued here today, Rahat said that he resigned from the aprty on the ground that he contested parliamentary election in 2004 on party mandate and at that time the SJP had promised that all the expenses, incurred on election will be borne by party president Chander Shekhar, former Prime Minister.
Rahat further said, “On Chnder Shekhar’s assurances, I make huge expenses of about Rs 10 lakh but till date the party has not paid me even a single penny. Therefore I resign from the party and have no links with SJP or any other political party.”
“I will now exclusively working for Pahari people of Rajouri, Poonch, Karnah and Kupwara”, he added
