| LM Deptt imposes fine Rs. 8000 from defaulter | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
REASI, DECEMBER 03-A team of Legal Metrology (LM) Department Reasi inspected the premises of M/S Jamwal Gas Agency, a dealer of M/S Hindustan Petroleum Gas Corporation, Reasi and found that the distributor was not providing any home delivery of LPG domestic cylinders to the consumers which is otherwise mandatory as per HPCL guide lines.
Further distributor was found selling domestic LPG cylinders 14.2 kg to the consumers at the rate of Rs.430 per cylinder thus by making an overcharging of Rs. 8 which otherwise meant for home delivery.
On this the distributor was booked under Section 33/51 of J&K Weights & Measures Act 1997 read with rule 23 (2) of PCR 1977.
The fine of Rs. 8000 was imposed and recovered from the defaulter on the spot.
The team was headed by the Assistant Controller Legal Metrology, Reasi, Mr K Raj.
