LJP concerned over alleged grabbing of forest land | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 3:A meeting of Lok Janshakti Party was held under the chairmanship of Sanjeev Manmotra, State working President LJP at its head office. In the meeting they expressed their serious concern over the forest land at Sunjwan allegedly grabbed by some people. This land was previously acquired by the forest department and wire barricade was erected around it to stop any illegal encroachment. Recently it has come to notice that the barricade has been put aside and some people have been allowed by the unknown authorities to erect constructions on the land which after struggle had been given to the department of forest to which it belonged. This state of affairs is a grave violence of law and it needs a thorough probe in the matter to bring the actual picture to the light. They urged the Chief Minister and Forest Minister to initiate special enquiry in this forest land grabbing case. They also asserted that the Ministers in order to insure their seats in the forth coming elections pay attention to their constituencies only at the cost of the people living in other constituencies. The people demand that special enquiry is needed to see if these works actually take place or it is just limited to announcements simply to misuse the grants. The leaders of the party have also expressed their grave concern over the deletion of names in the voters lists and most of the names have been shown incorrect almost in every ward’s lists. Manmotra expressed wonder as that there is no such bungling in the voters lists in the valley on such a large scale as it is in Jammu.
