| Dogri Sanstha celebrates World Disabled Day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 3:Dogri Sanstha, Jammu and JRC Home for Handicapped, Udheywala, an NGO dedicated to the rehabilitation of physically challenged children, jointly organized a Dogri poetry recitation contest among the students of local schools at JRC Home today. The programme was organized to mark the World Disabled day.
32 students of Udheywala, Talab Tillo, Nauabad, Bohri and Marh participated in the contest and recited the poems of prominent Dogri poets Yash Sharma, Dr. Champa Sharma , Gianeshwar, Surinder Singh Manhas, Balkrisan Bhoura, T.R. Magotra and others. The function was presided over by Padamshri Prof. N D Sharma and Prof. Lalit Magotra, president Dogri Sanstha was chief guest.
About 15 prominent Dogri writers and office bearers of Sanstha and JRC Home were present on this occasion. They included Dr. Veena Gupta, Pradyuman Singh , Virender Kesar, Satish Sharma, Narinder Bhasin, Shiv Mehta, Dhyan Singh Nirmal Vinod, Nirmal Vikram, Madan Padha, Randhir Singh Raipuria, Bansi Lal Sharma and Mangal Das Dogra.
Cash prizes were given to the participants who secured first three positions along with sets of Dogri books and certificates.
In the second part of the programme International Red Cross Society distributed school bags amongst the 85 physically challenged children. The distribution was arranged by Anil Padha, Regional Secretary Red Cross Society Jammu and Rizwana, Communication Officer, ICRC
